[MCARC] Brk

Yes the city owns the tower, and before, we obtained free electricity because it is also an emergency equipment for the county in the event of a disaster that would require us Hams to attend. As I recall, there is a packet station I put in the emergency vehicle of the counties. If we decide not to use "packet for emergencies", it can be used on 145.050 for voice too. This info would be important to give to the present Mayor. We must not forget our important responsibility to the community.

From what I've gathered from BVT, the City owns the tower. Somebody, somewhere, might care about the kilowatt or two of electricity we'd use per year....

I will talk to Jerry (Mayor) again and see if I can find out who we need to get permission from. I think it would be OK with him but I think we need to touch base with the city superintendent and maybe the land owner. I don’t know if Mike M. (KAØDQP) is reading this thread but I would be interested in knowing if the city has an antenna there and also does the county.

Also, have we determined who owns the tower itself? I assume Blue Valley.

If we have to choose between Packet and 147.285+ repeater, I also vote for the 285 repeater.

True, but how often would that really happen with our typical usage of both systems? My guess is it would be pretty rare....

Question: what packet frequency was BRK on? 145.010? If not, I vote for .010 if we put packet back up there....

If we can only have one, I vote for the .285 repeater....

        You're reading my mind...

The controller won't but there are plenty of Raspberry Pis around and
        AllStarLink would be interesting.

There would be too much desense each way unless there is substantial
        vertical separation of the antennas.

I've got the AA-230 ZOOM as well and have AntScope2 all loaded and
        ready...

        Thanks, Farren.
