[MCARC] Brk

I guess this is info to anyone, so I replied to ALL. Yes probably a year or
so ago or longer, I was going down there to do a restart on the TNC, and
observed the pile of what was the antenna for the Packet repeater. I
informed the city that we were not aware of what had happened, they said
that "Bluevalley comm.", had "Cleaned up the tower". I arranged to meet
with BV at the tower and they indicated if we wanted to, we could use a
DB224 ant that was on the tower( somewhat performance reduced ) being
Business Band designed, at that time Phil and I were the only users. About
a year later Phil announced he no longer had the ability to use it. I did
collect the pieces and purchased pieces that was needed to restore it. It
was purchased by Dr. Ryan years ago and I told him I had repaired and it was
ready if he wanted it back. Presently it is still in my garage and he did
indicate he might get back on the air when his "retirement is complete".
On the rest of the equipment I had supplied including the cabinet, is
complete if we wish to put it back in operation. It is at my house.

  And, talking about packet.....

Dennis: whatever became of BRK on the Blue Rapids tower? Is there still
equipment there? Is there still an antenna there? Does it belong to you or
the club? etc.

If there's an antenna there that belongs to the club, how can we get some
good out of it???

There is a resurgent thread on QRZ.com and while they've been doing
the
usual stuff with Raspberry Pi computers, TNC Pi TNCs, and so on,
they
now have a very inexpensive KISS TNC that does 1200, 2400, 4800, and
        9600 bps:

        I'm kind of intrigued.
