Hi Mike... I do recall the metal problem of soldering, and Muratic(sp?) acid works. Be very careful to use in a well vented area. The stuff is potent, maybe even using rubber gloves... Dennis

Can't believe that I am braver. I'm sure you have been inside radio boxes. Just 2 screws and 2 solder pads to remove the old battery with flat tabs. I'm not sure what flat tabs metal was. It was soldered to the pads, but when I tried to solder the to-battery end, that end would not take solder even with rosin flux.
