Thats what I've read too. I'm thinking about 170,000 yrs.(?) But the problem is during the shift we will loose some of our protection of the sun and major problems in electricity, delicate IC's, etc. Not to mention weather. Maybe not mine but some think during their lifetimes now. A little scary to me. If it wasn't so cold, I could go outside and track the North star and see how many degrees my compass is off now. Sorry, I just read what I said and had to laugh too, I meant the mag/true (magnetic and true references would be different, I think we are around 6 deg. east from true here? It will decrease more as it heads for Siberia. If I calculated it right. I have been working closely with my beam calibration lately because I am on an antenna for TV and need to be very close with my orientation to channel 10 (Lincoln/Beaver Crossing) and ch. 8 a little more west (30 deg. W. +/- , tru No.)

Dennis,
Nothing really new here. The Earth’s north and south magnetic poles have completely reversed multiple times in Earth’s history. Man just wasn’t around to see the affects of it.

True north will always remain constant. Magnetic moves so the difference will change.

Wow... the earth shifts its magnetic pole, then all readings for mag/true
north will be off, wonder how much? They didn't say... Dennis
