Thanks, Caleb. I'm ready for whatever is next. Last week I had time to
do a small mod to my TS-520SE to protect a relay contact. It's been
working like a charm so far. Now I'm waiting on a set of electrolytic
capacitors for the DG-5 digital display unit as mine gets noisy when it
warms up. On a wet/snowy/cold day I can get an hour or two to work on
things now.

I think that so long as the entire partition isn't encrypted, it should
be possible set the password to an empty string or some such. One
utility that comes to mind is 'john' available for various Linux
distributions that are available as "live" CD-ROMS/USB images that can
boot independently of the installed OS. I'm sure there are other tools
available.
