[MCARC] August events

Unless one is going back to school, August seems like a lazy filler
month on the calendar.  Not so in the amateur radio world around Kansas!

August 19 brings us the Kansas State ARRL Convention in Salina, KS at
the Webster Conference Center:

I've not heard what time the doors open, but it has been around 8 AM in
previous years.

August 21 is our monthly dinner gathering at Landoll Lanes in
(presumably) the conference room on the north end of the facility.  We
plan to meet at 6:30 PM and will order from the menu.

August 25 and 26 are the dates for the Kansas QSO Party which runs from
9 AM to 9 PM on Saturday and 9 AM to 3 PM on Sunday.  Details are on the
KS QSO Party Web site:

August 26 also brings the Pony Express Festival at the Hollenberg
Station east of Hanover:

Planned times of operation are 9:30 AM to 4 PM.

Perhaps August will surprise us with some mild days to fix up those
antennas or other outside projects before the frosty days of fall and
winter's icy breath falls on us far too quickly again!
