[MCARC] Ham radio antenna @ sherrif's office

I was walking my dog this evening and I noticed a 4 to 5' piece of fiberglass inside the lowest section of the tower at the sheriff's office.  It had a conductor that was broken off inside of the fiberglass and I noticed that the fiberglass tube was rough and badly weathered.  I shinned my flashlight on the top of the tower where the ham radio dual band was located and it appeared to be shorter than when I installed it 15 or 20 years ago.  Maybe it is time to remove the radio and use it for field day purposes?  The rig has not been used for several years that I was aware.  I'm not even sure if the radio plays?  I guess this can wait for a club meeting to discuss.
