My recollection closely matches yours although I had forgotten the exact
dates.  I recall that later on Jeff Bauer (then a tech here at UPRR)
obtained KA0WDY but it has lapsed.

I seem to recall one more in the class, a guy who worked for KPL (now
Westar) who gave us access to the KPL office here in town for the
classes.
