Subject: looking for a 10m

Hi all, longtime lurker here. Would any of you gentlemen have a 10m
cw/ssb rig you'd want to trade for a brand new vibroplex (forget which
model)? I bought a tnc and it has a keyer builtin along with some
other goodies so I've chosen to learn iambic rather than bug.

Hi Pat.

I understand the attraction to a 10m radio. I had one for several years
and sold it to a guy who is now a silent key and I don't know what
happened to his estate.

The radio was a Uniden HR-2600 which was produced during the early '90s
as I recall. While it had CW/SSB/AM/FM capability, it was a compromise
that in the end didn't work as well as the more mainstream amateur radio
transceivers. My suggestion is that based on my experience, even a
relatively cheap ham rig will perform better than the 10m only units.
Also, unless the sun gets active over the next couple of years, which is
looking less likely, the only activity on 10m will be sporadic E (Es).
Es is a lot of fun when it is there, but you'll probably like to have
access to other bands when 10m is dead.

Just my thoughts. Have fun which ever way you choose to go.

73, Nate
