Hello Bill and all:

IMHO, the article is pretty accurate. The economics of rechargeable batteries has significantly shifted in recent years. Where lead-acid gel-cells were a reasonable choice for potable use just a few years ago, given their weight, lifespan and current cost, they just are not anymore. Some form of Lithium-Ion is the way to go.
