Our two sessions are essentially fully subscribed for the exam this
Saturday.  

Thanks in advance to the many who have volunteered their time and materials
that enable us to conduct the examination!

The Hamilton Wireless Association is holding the Amateur Radio exam outdoors
in a parking lot adjacent to the Novato Community Hospital.  Exam is by
reservation only

The August 8 VE Amateur Radio examination will be held in the circled
parking lot (see below) at Novato Community Hospital, Rowland Way, Novato.
CA.  Please expect strong sun, and no shade.  Dress with long-sleeve shirts,
wear a sun hat and bring sun protection.  Also, a mask and nitrile gloves
are required.  If you have one, please bring a TV tray or small folding
table to take the test.  Please take care of personal needs before arriving
as there are no public facilities at the parking lot.  All exams will be
administered for a single $15.00 fee.

We will ask you to park your cars in a line and will give you the FCC
application which you can fill out in your car.  We will ask you to sit in
chairs in front of your cars to take the examination.  When you are
finished, please raise your hand to signal you are done, and we will send
someone over to pick up the paperwork.  The tests will be graded and you
will be informed whether you passed the exam, and the number of correct
answers found on the exam.  Before you leave, please make sure you have
received a CSCE document which is the record you have passed the exam.

Several have asked if they can take more than one element (technician,
general, extra).  If you have made a request to take more than one element
(technician, general, extra), you have been added to the reservation list
for both the 1:00PM and 2:00PM sessions.

If you have an Amateur license or CSCE certificate(s), please bring a
printed copy of the document(s) so that we can submit it with your
application.  We cannot submit your application without also submitting
copies of your existing license (if any).  

All candidates please bring 2 forms of identification, one with a picture
(e.g. driver's license)

Novato Community Hospital is located at the end of Rowland Way in Novato.
Take the Rowland Way exit from Highway 101 and bear west.  Rowland Way takes
an abrupt left-hand turn at the second stop light after leaving the freeway
(look for a gas station).  Follow Rowland to the Novato Community Hospital
at the end of Rowland Way.  The parking lot is circled in red below.



We are also holding a license preparation class for the Technician license
starting at 9:00am Saturday, August 8.  The cost of the class is $25 which
includes the $15 license fee.  Attendance is by reservation only.  The study
session will be conducted in your car in the parking lot.  You will be given
a booklet to read through until the time of the test.  Our experience shows
a high percentage of those who take the preparation class pass the
Technician class exam.  Please arrange for personal needs before arriving as
there are no public facilities at the parking lot.
