Please pass the word, and post on Next Door or other neighborhood connection
resources. Thank you!
You no doubt have heard of Amateur Radio, but have you considered obtaining
an Amateur Radio license? The license is issued by the FCC (Federal
Communications Commission) after qualifying through a 35-word multiple
choice examination. Preparing for the exam introduces you to various topics
in Amateur Radio and reveals the magic of communications: the use of
invisible waves to reach around the world! Knowledge of Morse code is no
longer required, and modern radios are affordable and convenient
Sound interesting? The Hamilton Wireless Association in conjunction with the
San Rafael City Library is offering free introductory classes through the
month of October, beginning 2:00PM, Tuesday, October 8. Preparation for the
exam will still take a little effort outside of the class structure, but we
hope to provide support and encouragement to those who are interested in
learning a new technology for the first time.
Here is a chance to take a fresh look at a new world! There is no age
limit, all are welcome!
Classes will be held at the San Rafael City Library on Tuesday afternoons
through the month of October, and the exam will be held at the Novato
Community Hospital in Novato on Saturday, November 9.
If you are interested, please contact Bill Smith, info at k6bw.org or the San
Rafael City Library for more information.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bill, AB6MT
