I successfully completed my application for renewal online even though I was almost a year late.

Many of our members are finding their amateur radio license will be expiring
soon. The license is valid for 10 years and can be easily renewed at no
charge.
Applications to renew are accepted by the FCC within a 90-day window before
the expiration date and up to two years after it has expired.
If your license has expired within the last two years, you can still easily
renew it. You can renew your license online or by mail. There is no charge
and instructions can be found at:
http://www.ak8b.us/hamrenew.htm.
