Are you interested in obtaining your Amateur Radio license? Would you like
to upgrade!

The Technician license permits amateur radio communications with portable,
hand held radios which are usable throughout your neighborhood. Radio
repeaters extend handheld coverage across the county.

The General license is the next level license. General Class Amateurs have
the additional privilege of communicating on short-wave frequencies
throughout the country and around the world.

Both licenses are available by successfully completing written examinations.
Upon successful completion you will be issued an amateur radio license and
call sign.

The Hamilton Wireless Association is sponsoring a license preparation
program to assist you in preparing for the August 15th Volunteer
Examination.

      (1) Study classes for Technician and General licenses will be held
each Thursday evening at Trinity Community Church.
	(2) Information will be reviewed in the Thursday evening classes
(7:00pm-9:00pm) beginning this Thursday and continuing each Thursday at
Trinity Church up to the date of the test.
	(3) An additional session for those preparing for the Technician
license will be held beginning at 9:00am on the morning of the examination,
as described below.

On Saturday, August 15, the morning preparation session for the Technician
license will begin in Room 101, Novato Community Hospital in Novato.
The Technician preparation session will be held from 9:00am to 12:30pm. You
will be given a booklet with questions and answers to review up until the
time of the test.

Saturday, August 15 is also the date of the examination, which will be
conducted at 1:00pm.
All amateur radio elements will be offered at the 1:00pm examination. The
fee for the examination is $15.00.

Cost of the Technician preparation program is $25, which includes the $15
examination fee. Cost of the General preparation program is $15 which
covers the examination fee.

If you would like to participate, or have any questions, please contact Bill
Smith (hbco2 at hbco2.com) or phone at 415-485-3815.
