I just wanted to say thank you to everyone,,,,
I got some great suggestions on how to check my radio, and it is now
working.
Special Thanks to Bill Smith. I brought my radio to him this morning, and
turns out the battery is fine,,,,upon further examination, he found that
the radio had a short between the positive and base of the unit.
So then he made a thin plastic "gasket" to slip between what we discovered
to be the problem area, screwed it down, and now my IC-2GAT works great!
So, now I can invest in a "real" battery charger for this radio.
My wife was really happy about this, it was her fathers radio!
Thanks again,
Steve
