[MarinTeams] CERT Radio On-Air exercise tonight (Monday)

This Thursday we will be conducting our ongoing CERT Radio Communication
Classes.  Whether for the first time, or as a refresher, please take the
time to join us.  Trinity Community Church, San Rafael, 7:00PM-9:00PM.

 

Thursday's Class:

 

.         Class 1 - Introduction and propagation

Class 2 - Radio Configuration

Class 3 - Net Control Procedures

Class 4 - Message Handling and general review.

 

 

Tonight (Monday) we will be testing our Central Marin Repeater as part of
the CERT Radio program.  Please join us 7:00-7:30 PM on the air, starting on
Channel 4 (Mill Valley Repeater, 146.775 (-) PL 110.9), then on Channel 5
(Central Marin Repeater, 146.775 (-) PL 127.3).  We will be tentatively
using 438.300 as the cross band channel from Mill Valley into Channel 5.  We
will also be using Channel 3 (145.640 simplex).

 

The Channel 5 repeater is exhibiting quite a bit of 'desense' and at present
has reduced sensitivity.  We are working to improve its performance but it
may take installation of new equipment to bring the repeater to a level of
satisfactory performance.
