Enclosed is a description of the CERT Radio License program. The
examination location is listed below.

The first step in joining CERT Radio is to obtain an Amateur Radio License.
In addition to filling out a simple form, passing a test of basic radio
technology is all that is needed. CERT Radio and the Hamilton Wireless
Association are conducting an Amateur Radio License Class Saturday, May 11.
The study session begins at 9:00 AM., with an examination to obtain your
license scheduled at 1:00pm.

At the Saturday License Class, you will be given a booklet with questions
and correct answers which we ask you to read up to the time of the test.
Experience indicates virtually everyone who reads the materials passes the
test and is subsequently awarded an Amateur Radio license.

Once you obtain your Amateur Radio license, we ask you to participate in our
Communications Class and purchase a two-way radio. Cost of the radio ranges
between $125 and $180. Our recommended radio is in the $180 range.

Communications Classes are conducted on an ongoing basis to assist you with
using your radio. There are four class sessions which are held in sequence
Thursday evenings at from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Class location will be
announced.

If you know of others who would like to attend, please forward their name,
address, email address and telephone number and they will be subscribed to
our "Marin Teams" mailing list. The list provides announcements of upcoming
classes, and current information about the program. The list also provides
a way to communicate among our CERT Radio members.

All MMRC or CERT members who would like to join us in our Radio group are
welcome, please let your neighbors know about the program!

Sincerely,

Bill Smith, AB6MT
