This Thursday we will be conducting our ongoing CERT Radio Communication
Classes. Whether for the first time, or as a refresher, please take the
time to join us. Trinity Community Church, San Rafael, 7:00PM-9:00PM.
Marjore Schwier, KI6YKY, will be conducting the class.

Thursday's Class:

*  Class 1 - Introduction and propagation

  Class 2 - Radio Configuration

Class 3 - Net Control Procedures

Class 4 - Message Handling and general review.

Tonight (Monday) we will be testing repeaters as part of the CERT Radio
Advanced Communications program. We will conduct an exercise to deploy and
test our mobile repeater in the hills above Sleepy Hollow in San Anselmo.

Please join us 7:00-7:30 PM on the air, starting on:

Channel 4 (Mill Valley Repeater, 146.775 (-) PL 110.9)

Simplex 438.200 (no PL) cross-banded to Channel 4 (Mill Valley Repeater,
146.775 (-) PL 110.9)

Later, we will test:

Channel 5 (Mobile Repeater, 146.775 (-) PL 127.3)

We will be tentatively using 448.200 as the cross band channel. This time,
stations in So. Marin (Corte Madera, south) who can normally operate through
the Mill Valley repeater should set their radios to Channel 4 (146.775, PL
110.9). Otherwise, stations (including San Rafael and north who cannot
normally operate through the Mill Valley repeater) should set their radios
to 438.200 simplex (no PL). With this cross-band configuration, stations
operating simplex on 438.200 will be linked to the Mill Valley repeater.

Look forward to hearing you tonight!
