A short glimpse of the FCC Forum on Emergency Communications will reinforce
how important a radio based network can be to provide information and help
to save lives if we have a major disaster in this area. Because voice
communications is such a limited resource, proficiency will have a direct
impact on our effectiveness.

We are meeting this Thursday night (tonight) at Christ Redeemer Church in
San Rafael at 7:00pm to practice our ongoing communications training. We
are meeting Thursday evenings. Training has been going extremely well, and
we can continue to practice on-air, especially tonight.

Christ Redeemer Church is located at 123 Knight Drive in San Rafael.
Driving instructions follow. We anticipate we will return to Building 548
in the near future.

If you are traveling on Highway 101 from the north, take the Central San
Rafael exit. You will be on Heatherton Street. Continue on Heatherton
Street though several intersections until you reach 2nd Street. Turn left
onto 2nd. Street.

If you are traveling on Highway 101 from the south, take the Central San
Rafael exit. Bear right, and turn right at the first intersection onto 2nd
Street.

2nd Street turns into 3rd Street, and then into San Pedro Road. Continue
past the Montecito shopping center and past San Rafael High School.
Continue for 2.5 miles on San Pedro Road

Look for Knight Drive. A street sign is visible in the divider of San Pedro
Road. Turn left onto Knight Drive. Continue to 123 Knight Drive. The
church is on the left-hand side of the street. Turn left and park in the
church parking lot.

Please plan to attend our classes, even if you have attended previously. If
you watch the forum, you will hear experience of individuals that are
directly involved in current events. Their message: preparation has a major
positive impact.
