IC-100, IC-200, IC-700 and now, IC-800 are recommended. Each course takes
about three hours to complete, at the end of which you are invited to take a
short test and qualify for a certificate. The certificates are useful if
you wish to take local training programs, some of which require ICS
certification as prerequisites.

The courses are valuable, particularly ICS-100. The course material can be
used in organizing virtually any activity from weddings to changing a light
bulb. Government emergency responders take these courses, and if you are
familiar with the subject material, you will be on the same playing field if
you need to contact a fireman or police officer in times of emergency.

Local courses are held from time to time, or you can take the courses
on-line. Be patient with the on-line courses, you may find the keyboard
instructions a bit daunting at first. Once you are in the course, the
program runs smoothly.

700 sites. Links within each site will allow you to take the test, download
the manual or course summary sheets. Please forward this information to
others as required.
