Folks,

I won't be able to make the session, Tuesday, until about 8:30 pm, so
here is my experience.

1. The location I had was good. I was near the top of Channing drive
in an apartment house parking lot that had lots of room.

2. The FT8800 dual band transceiver is a fine unit and we should all
learn how to set it. After only a short while, I was able to make the
necessary adjustments.

3. I could communicate with Walker Peak. The atmospheric conditions
were awful and different between east and west Marin. Even though I was
stationary, my GPS was jumping, which indicates radio signal interference.

4. The FT8800 cannot work off a car battery by itself. The transceiver
uses too much power and when I left my engine running to generate power,
the FT8800 worked fine. Otherwise the voltage kept dropping.
