Here is the schedule for the Thursday Exercise. Note no meeting will be
held Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Hamilton. The exercise will substitute
for the regular Thursday night class.
The exercise will be held on the K6BW repeater (146.775, negative offset,
110.9pl). Any and all stations are welcome to check in to the net.
The net will be open from 9:00am to 9:00pm with the following stations
volunteering as net control operators. The proper way to check into the net
is to wait for the net control operator to announce "This is a Directed Net,
Over." Key your transceiver and announce "<net control>, this is <your
amateur callsign>, over." Finish any subsequent transmissions with "Over"
until communications are complete. The use of "Out" completes the
communication, much like hanging up a telephone.

At 12:00 Noon, an exercise will be read by five stations who are simulating
an emergency response in the Terra Linda area. Ten incidents will be
covered in the script. If you can tune in, try to keep track of the
progress of each incident and which stations are handling the
communications. If you haven't heard the script before, you're in for an
intriguing adventure. The exercise is expected to last a little over two
hours.
Volunteers - be prepared with battery backup. The exercise may exhaust
rechargeable batteries.
