Hi Peter,

Again, congratulations on acquiring your Amateur Radio license.  You haven't
missed a thing, thank you for asking.  The technical class this Wednesday is
for those who are interested in learning more information regarding the
material that was on the test last March 24.  This class is optional with
respect to the Dart communications training program.  We will be discussing
basic electronics, radio propagation, emergency power sources, how repeaters
work and other technical details.

The April 21st class is the communications class, the second of two classes
which is part of the Dart communications training.  It is highly recommended
as we will be discussing how to use the radio.  It would be preferable but
it is not absolutely necessary to have a radio.  However, we will be
configuring radios during the class and after the class will be conducting
on-air practice sessions from our neighborhoods.  Without a radio, you will
not be able to participate in the practice.
