[MAMS] Beacon -yesterday

Good morning,
I did hear the beacon yesterday. It was 10-15 dB out of the noise using my mast-mounted preamp. When I turned the preamp off, the signal disappeared into the noise or was just barely detectable under it. That’s good to know. My preamp is doing its job.
I didn’t get around to sending this because I spent all of yesterday (when not involved in the Veterans’ day program at the local Senior Center) trying to get a recently purchased program called Yagi Stress to run. It is a windows program, sold by DX Engineering. I got it to install and accept the security key, but it still behaves like it is the trial or demo version, which won’t save files.
I am exchanging emails with them, but I’m sure it is some wrinkle on my machine. I run Windows 7/64 bit in a virtual window created by a program called Parallels. This all runs on my MacMini. I run this setup all the time for many amateur radio applications and the Mac actually runs Windows with fewer crashes than I had with my old PC. I've had the Mac going for several years. I use the Mac side on the internet and the Windows side for amateur radio and a few other programs.
I don’t suppose any of you has this set up, but I thought I would throw it out and see what the response is. My buddy, N4TY runs a similar setup and I expect he will rescue me shortly. Tyler is a computer guru and has kept me going for years on a variety of machines. In return, I have put up a couple of towers for him.
And that’s all the news from Radio Ridge, Electron Acres ;-)
