Looks like this is what I am going to do. I'll start off on Saturday
morning in EN50rl around 7 am. I will probably be there till around
noon. Jim W9SNR will be on a hill north of me till maybe 10:30 am and
then move to another one at 11 am. I'll then head south. I'll take
I-55 to Route 16 and end up at EM49ua near Grafton. It's supposed to
be about a three hour drive from EN50rl to the EM49ua area. So that
would put me there around 3 or 4 pm if I don't stop anywhere else. I
could stop somewhere before that and operate. Ron, any suggestions?
How does this fit with other people's schedules? Where will others be
at 4 pm?
I'm not sure exactly when I'll activate Bald Knob in EM57hn on Sunday.
I talked with Bob N5RP and we talked about transferring my 10 GHz
stuff from my car to his van for the operation on Bald Knob. He's got
an operating bench in his van. And A/C if we need it.It will be some
time in the morning but it could be as late as 9 am. Do any of you
have a feel for where you'd be on Sunday morning?
I'm itching to try out the panadaptor mod I did on my FT-817. It could
be very useful in trying to detect signals on long-haul paths.
Dave K4TO, if you read this, do you think there would be any chance of
working you from EM57hn on 10 GHz? It's about a 300 mile path.
