[MAMS] Computer clock

Another test is my Garmin GPS. On the set up screen it shows time to the
nearest second and the second pulses from a GPS are used to reference
frequencies to better than WWVB these days, parts in 10^-12 or better. I
have this computer running XP update the clock every few weeks, but I've
not compared to GPS lately. So grabbed the GPS and checked. The computer
was ten seconds fast. I asked it to update and it came back 16 seconds
fast. I asked it to update again and it came within 2 seconds. I'm sure
the delays in the internet are always present and not quite the same
thing ten seconds apart. I believe the GPS the best and it can be
connected to the computer, though I don't have software on hand for
setting the computer clock from it. Don't need that fine a precision in
this laptop.
