Hi Jim and All,
I was planning on operating in the Microwave Sprint from the hill in
EN50rl. Then my sister reminded me that we have a surprise 70th birthday
party for one of my cousins on Saturday at 1 pm. I've been looking at
various options I could do.
I thought I might have to miss the Sprint. But now I think I can go to
Tower Hill in EN52sa and operate for a good part of the contest. I hope to
get there around 7 am. The birthday party is in West Dundee, about 13 miles
from the hill. Probably a half hour drive. So I'd probably quit and tear
down at some time between 11:30 and noon.
I rented a car for the trip north, so I don't know yet if I can manage 902
MHz in the contest. I think the 1296 antenna and everything above that will
fit in the car. So I'd take 1296 through 24192 for sure. I'll decide on 902
when I get the car.
There is a chance of rain that morning according to NWS. That's an unknown
factor at this time. Hopefully the forecast improves later in the week.
So for now I think I will go to EN52sa and hopefully at least work Jim
W9SNR through 24 GHz if all goes well. I know W9ZIH will be around. He told
me that in the 432 Sprint.
73, Zack W9SZ
