Results 2012 ARRL 10 GHz+ contest. NE8I 2nd weekend.

Drove 364 miles. Made 7 operating stops in EN64 and EN74. Operated about 24 hours, including drive time. Made 35 contacts. 26 on 10 GHz 9 on 24 GHz. Murphy was very much alive and destructive this time. Thanks to everyone who operated. Drove, rovered, traveled and helped make this a great weekend. The weather was good, but windy. No real big openings noted. Some early AM enhancement. K2YAZ, again was the super host. And helped make everything happen, by coordinating groups, relaying, helping with contacts. Both 144.260 and the phone. Still working on the log. That may take a couple of weeks. As, I only make it to the Library for internet access once or twice a week. And that is limited to one hour max.

24 GHz. Everyone on Lake Michigan, except one, had 24 GHz. Of my 9 contacts, 8 were across Lake Michigan. Meaning a minimum of 60 miles. 100 KM. Any of the bigger stations, EG 500+ mW >12 inch dish made it. There was CW, FM and SSB activity. 24 GHz again proved to be a daylight band, with propagation.

Plan to be on for the 222 fall sprint+.
Plan to be on for October MAD. Saturday October 6, 2012. Only question is from where.
