Good morning Scott,
Well I use a .9M dish with a dual feed for 5 and 10 Ghz. On a weak
signal, I only get about +/- 3 degrees to play with on 10G. Bill must
have had a whopping signal for me to hear him 15 degrees off!
The dish, a 2x76 el array for 2304 and a single 76 el 3456, along with a
box with transverters and amps for all four bands are mounted at 185
feet on my 200 foot rotating tower. I run a single 144 mhz IF cable plus
a four wire control cable and operate the system remotely from the
shack. The tower sits 250 behind the shack, so the total length is 435
feet. I've operated it for nearly ten years. My QTH is 1102' ASL and is
the highest pint in the county. I have a radio horizon of 40 or 50
miles in every direction. I hope we can catch an opening and work some
day. I have worked W5LUA in Dallas on 3456!
73,
Dave
