I'm going. I'm on the program Saturday morning, with 6 papers, some very
short. With RAGBRAI arriving in town Thursday evening its going to be a
traffic madhouse, some 15,000 bicycles and many support vehicles. They
will be coming in from the west on county roads for the bicycles and
likely US30 mostly for the support vehicles. That makes using I-380
probably the best access to the conference hotel which is 2 blocks from
exit 17. Friday morning the mob leaves going east on a county road. I
expect a fraction of the bicycle mob will wander off on other roads just
to be different from the planned route, that I found in a file titled
"CR-Ragbrai-Route-Map.pdf" on the official Cedar Rapids Ragbrai web
page. Be careful about speed on I-380, the city is raking in lots of
cash from automated speed cameras along that road.

One of the on-line directions programs says I'm 130 miles by US20 and
I-380 and US-20 is ten miles north of here so it should be 110 miles by
IA 175 and county roads and a bit of I-380. I plan on an early Friday
morning start. Antennas I'll bring and probably on the 10 G transverter
for NF testing, won't have the rover assembled or along.
