Hi Mike
On Wednesday Night..K8TQK asked me To Listen For a new Beacon On
1296.080....So I Tuned To That Frequency And There it Was ...
Signal Strength Was About S2-S3 , Then Was a Little Stronger The next Two
Days here In Michigan Near Detroit ...EN82LN.
Distance Approx 206 Miles.....There was VHF and UHF Band Enhancement as
Well ....Have Not Heard It Since Then ...
But Will Listen From Time To Time...
Thank The Group for Putting Beacon Up ...

That is a long way for the amount of power we are running. I think the
antenna is on the northeast side of the tower. Could be some enhancement
in your direction along with propagation enhancement that night. The side
arm is six feet out from the tower.
I need to do some work on the keyer. It is built on perf board and hanging
in the open. The beacon is inside of the 146.64 repeater cabinet. When the
repeater is up the keyer gets messed up from the repeater RF.

I copied it about S-5 one morning, I am 121 miles away. Most of the time I
have not been able to hear it. I listen about every morning and have for the
past couple of weeks.
