[MAMS] may 7

I worked N9LB on 902 with good signals both ways. Lloyd told me he had
10 dB more power on 1296, so I figured it should be easy. Neither of
us heard the other at all on 1296.

Conditions did seem poor and kind of strange yesterday for the most
part. One exception was that W9ZIH and I worked on 3456 and 10 GHz
with signals pinning our s-meters both ways, and when we tried to peak
our dishes we both swung over at least a 90 degree range with no
change in received signal strength.

I saw this happen a couple years ago in the 10 GHz contest when I
worked NE8I across Lake Michigan. In that case we could point our
dishes just about any direction and have a strong signal. There was a
storm approaching from the south over the lake. It was not rain
scatter we were experiencing.
