OK Scott,
Welcome to the MAMS group and I sure wish you could keep the
2304!   By the way, it has been a couple of years now that I bought
my 2304 kit and before this I was already on .902, 1.2 and 5.7 Gig's
first.  I have been real busy working these bands and then I added
3.4 and 10 Gig's.  I admit it is getting hard to operate all these
bands with the guys in this group at the same time!   My point is
that all my time is used up working ops and helping others get there
equipment working that I have not finished my own 2304.   My own
personal goal in uW was to get on a new band every year!  Also, to
try and complete the VUCC for these bands as well.  I would have to
say that hardest VUCC is 902 and my easiest was 10 gig.   10 gig
came very fast for me for the first 5 grids and then several ops here
in St. Louis bought the 3w DEMI transv. and put all the local grids
on the map for me with a total of 11 grids on 10 Gigs.  Scott, I sold
my DEMI 10 gig transv. to try and come up with a DB6NT to replace
it.  I ended up buying a complete MaComm White box including the
crystal to put the L.O. on Freq. from the Dayton HamVention.   This
will be my next project after I get the 2304 completed.

I am at the point now that I need to put all the transverters in one
rack and try to come up with a single band switch for all of this.
Oh, I now have 24 Gig's and this cannot be incorporated into the
main box of transverters because this is a big box all of it's own!

I need to see NE8I's box soon and I sure will take notes this
time - hi hi.

One other comment, I see you are using up coming contest as
a reason to buy this band.  Most contest have been flat and it is
more important to take your time and think things through and
have the equipment ready for when the openings happen!  I am
not a contester and I watch the conditions and try to prepare for
the tropo ducting that goes on around the Mississippi River.
Zack - W9SZ and I have caught some really good openings
during our MAD (Microwave Activity Day) that is on every first
Saturday of the month, July 6 th is our next MAD.  Scott, what
bands do you have currently?

Wow, that's quite a savings buying through CSVHFS!  The retail price
from DEMI for the current 1W complete kit (all boards, parts and
enclosure) is $400 and $500 for a completely built unit for DEMI.  So,
mine only saves a guy $5 but about 18 weeks wait.

With mine, somebody could be on by the 2011 August UHF contest,
otherwise the next VHF & Up contest they would be able to be on
would be the January VHF Sweeps.  I also build for others and can
turn their unit out in 2-3 days from opening the box to shipping it out
the door, built and tested...and I've built 8 or 9 units between 902
and 10 GHz.  I want to build a 5760 unit for myself, hence the desire
to move out this 2304 unit.  It is completely built and tested, but
brand new, not used.

My DEMI 2304 - 144 with 1w output cost $250.00 in kit form but is a
CSVHFS discount...... I am almost done building it.  I am using the lower
output level by not using the final stage but for resale purposes I wanted
the 1w stage included.

Need to move this out to finance another project...

DEMI 2304-144 transverter. 1-10W in @ 144, 1W out at 2304. Presently set
for 9.3W in to give 1.00W out at 2304.  Common I.F. Split TX/RX @ 2304.
Needs 10 MHz signal for synthesized local oscillator board. See my ham
radio page at http://corbenflyer.tripod.com/ for more info. $495
shipped. No International, sorry.
Buy it now and you can be on a new band for the ARRL August UHF contest!
