Back when I was a bigger idiot, I thought I'd test an amp by putting my 
finger on the output terminal, and keying up for a FRACTION of a second. 
  Power wasn't high, about 200W.

Burned a hole in my finger, and ached up to the elbow for months.

I also opened a microwave chamber that had the safety switch disabled. 
I swear I saw a cobalt blue blob inside.  Ran out while hitting the 
power switch, and had a good cry.

Nowadays, safety precautions take FAR longer than actual tests, or 
inspections.
