A note at https://www.lwca.net/mb/msg/13953.htm prompted me to look for
the VLF Alpha stations using kiwisdr receivers. All 3 have been copied
via the KPH receiver at Pt Reyes, CA over a 5768 mi path. This morning
receivers in Alberta (VE6ARS at 5042 mi) and Alaska (WL7NO at 3852 mi)
also copied the transmissions at 14.88... kHz. Interestingly, while all
3 receivers produced correlation peaks at 3.60 sec, their time
signatures differed markedly. Only VE6ARS indicated triple bursts like
heard in the past using an eprobe at the home QTH. That's the reason for
calling the 14.88 kHz station "Alpha3". The station at 12.649 kHz
transmits dual bursts (hence the label Alpha2) while the station at
11.905 kHz transmits single bursts (hence the label Alpha1).
