At about -10F lowfer SIW is still doing fine. In years past it's seen a
lot worse. At least the winds calmed down, the snow probably isn't above
where RF is applied to the vertical antenna, and ComEd didn't drop
power. The UPS is only good for a few hours. Later, tuned for lowfer EAR
and found it weak with QSB, but for a 326.7 mi daylight path to a
kiwisdr using an 80 mtr dipole antenna that's very good. Next, TAG was
tuned in using the K1VL kiwisdr and it's still working fine too. Lowfer
KE used to come in via the KT4RX kiwisdr but lately copy has been nil
despite the path being only 76.2 mi. Also no longer copy lowfer WM using
the Peoria kiwisdr at 172 mi, the K9VD kiwisdr at 150.3 mi, the AB9MO
kiwisdr at 140.1 mi, or the W1CLM kiwisdr at 98.7 mi. WH2XVN on 183.5
kHz sending CW was not seen via the KJ6EO kiwisdr at 77.2 mi like
before. Perhaps it's just down for the moment? It is disappointing how
deaf at LF most kiwisdr receivers are but they're free for anyone to use
so not fair to complain.
