That would be just great if you need a new project! I always look at these things as a way of growing new brain cells at the same time :-)

Roger, G3XBM has a nice xvrtr cct here that has been used by many:

The xvrtr could readily be modified to yield more output using a GW3UEP FET amplifier. FETs are so much better than tubes on 630 and are dirt cheap:

PS I used a TS-440 on 2200 and 630m for years. What a superb performer it is below the BCB!!

Hi Steve…..I’ll keep that in mind.  I currently use my TS-440 for receiving
on 2200M and 630M, with WSJT-X running in an old Win7 computer.

A down converter from 160M and small (tube) linear amp could be driven
by the TS-440 in split mode and would get me on the air on 630M.
