Gedas:"Need" probably isn't the criterion. New LowFERS are always welcome. If there's a need, it's probably in the realm of MedFERS (I have a couple of QSLs from "back in the day," but no targets for many years that I know of), or 49 mHz. Food for thought.Mark -- WA9ETWSent from my U.S.Cellular© Smartphone

Mike, thanks for that URL. I had not seen any of this before so it was a neat treat to look it all over. I think I would be like you, any report would be exciting. As of right now signals are the strongest I have seen for WM and SIW, ever. So tonight might be a great night for some long haul DX.So one more question......I wonder if there would be any interest for yet another beacon? I am finishing up a beacon for 10 GHz which is very badly needed in the Midwest but I do not know if there is any need or desire for another LOWFER beacon someplace near the watering hole.  I may be naive but I have plenty of room to put up a small heavily top-loaded vertical and would be willing to give it some more serious thought.Thoughts from the community on a new beacon from NE Indiana (EN70) would be appreciated.Gedas, W8BYA EN70JTLight travels faster than sound.....This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. On 11/26/2023 5:05 PM, N8OOU wrote:> Gedas,>> I thought about your question for a minute, and decided on this > answer.
