[Lowfer] KE and LED noise

Good signal all day from KE as expected. JH barely detectable sometimes.

The noise I was receiving this morning was not power line
insulator leakage. After tuning the received around the band, I found a
strong peak in noise just below 180 kHz typical of a switching power
supply. So I went looking for the source with a ducky antenna on an
IC-705. It didn't take long to find the source. Just yesterday, I
replaced a dual tube 2 foot florescent light fixture over the kitchen sink
and counter area. Switching the light off eliminated the noise.

Over the years I've replaced most inducement bulbs and florescent tubes in
the house and shop without any trace of noise like others have
experienced. I have about a dozen 4 foot direct fed tubes in use. One of
the dual tube fixture is right over my head in the shack. I spent several
hours with no success trying various chokes and ICE line filters trying to
reduce the noise from the 2 foot LED tubes. It was fairly easy to
disassemble and reassemble one of the tubes to look at the driver, but of
course I didn't expect that to lead to any RFI cure. So I have just been
lucky to have replaced so many incandescent and florescent lights with LED
without raising my RF noise floor.
