Hello Mike ...
And thank you for the e-mail and your suggestion.
I am currently using an old TS-590s with Argo that out performs the RSPdx
With the set up as is, I have copied EAR, SJ, WM and SIW, in fact, I can hear them all the time.
Was just looking for something better to snag KE, TIM and 22A.
For listening I use a LF Engineering Active antenna and a 1/4 wave insulated 160 meter vertical.
Believe it or not the 160 meter vertical works the best which I wouldn't have expected.

Brian;
My suggestion is that you have your SDRPlay up and running, then go to
website map.kiwisdr.com. Pick the Kiwi located in Edinburg, In. It has a
good antenna for LF reception. You can then compare the performance
between the two radios.
You can chose other receivers on the map to compare. There is a wide
variation in antenna/noise levels that effect how well the "same" radio
can receive.
I found that it took some effort in putting up a good low noise receive
antenna for my station, no mater what radio was used.
