[Lowfer] Skywave frequency shift

Dex (& All): Interesting, skywave went short-hop in late afternoon today, good E's still showing MUF 50~79 MHz overWestern SC....wonder if all that iono turbulance at 1900 kHz was part of the build-up to the E's opening this late afternoon/eveningthat is still present in the upper HF bands....
I was using WSM as a test signal last night (amazingly clean audio on that TX) , as my e-probe went on the Fritz....turned out to be a F-connector at the choke below the e-probe in tree.  Boy that aluminum jacket jets gnarly after several years outdoors, I had to hack away 5 ft of RG6 to find reasonably  clean metal with some  De-OXit assistance.....e-probe was only drawing 5ma, but back to 20ma now....

I've been monitoring the second harmonic of 950 kHz AM stations on 1900
kHz.  All during the day, I see a near steady in amplitude and frequency
carrier from what I suspect is from WORD in Spartanburg SC that is 93 miles
to my west.  During the morning hours and back again in the mid afternoon
hours I receive a signal that is slightly higher in frequency and with what
may be skywave distortion.  Just wondering if this may be from WWJ, a 50 kW
station near Detroit MI 492 miles to my NNW.

Remembering the good old days when WSM and KFI had crystal oven oscillators
