Guys, I ordered a TS-890 yesterday. I'll report on how well the receiver
does on LF. Based on the specs, and the QST review, I would imagine it will
do quite well, at least down to ~100 kHz, without a converter.

It has received excellent reviews, across the board, on it's HF and 6 meter
performance. As far as LF goes, it has a few things going for it:

(1) frequency display reads in 1 Hz increments
(2) TCXO included
(3) good sensitivity IP3 numbers
(4) rear input for a 10MHz GPS disciplined reference
(5) 1 mW output via a rear connection on the LF ham bands for an external
amp

I'm pretty stoked. This is the first transceiver I've owned in years. Gotta
brush up on my CW skillz.
