I’d say that your experiment was a success, Andy.
My TS-440S only has the SSB filters in it, so I’ve
been using the Timewave DSP-59+ to narrow the
bandwidth.  My idea was to reduce the amount of
signal that the decoders had to chew on to come
up with results.  It seems to work for me.
