J D & All:  I just switched from SE a EWE to SW EWE antenna on 187.304 kHz. No sign of KE yet, but thedaytime QRN went down 6dB on the SW antenna as per a fixed stick attenuator test on the IF reciever for the same relative S-meter reading.That pretty much corresponds to the high angle F/B ratio response on the EWE models. Every little bit of noise management helps...

It's interesting how the rate of lightning strikes decreased after the 
storm finally passed into the Gulf. Our previous QRN can be attributed 
to the High Rates of the Caribbean!
