Thanks for the response Mark. Steve, AA7U forwarded me to an SDRplay 
expert and got the frequency drift issue straightened out. For best 
stability one needs to disable the fractional resampler. This may not 
matter to many but no wonder I missed it - it's way down in the user 
manual on page 58 or 83.

As to the splatter issue, I'm still investigating. I have been able to 
copy NDBs without the broadcast band filter with the HDR mode and lower 
RF gain. But Navtex decodes may still be an issue because both lowering 
RF gain and using a MW filter may cause desense.
