Thanks Garry,
Yeah, I went a little crazy back when I first got on 630m 5 or 6 years ago. I bought 20 rolls of chicken wire from a local farm that closed down and basically carpeted the desert under the antenna. Later, when I decided to get on 2200m I put up the present 100' Rohn 25 antenna. As I now clearly see was a case of poor planning, the two antennas are way too close together, but I didn't think I would ever use the original 50' antenna again. The main antenna has 300 radials with the shortest 100 being 100' long and covers (and bonded to) the chicken wire of the original antenna. So, to stay on 1750m I'll need a different antenna on the other side of the property.
It's always something! Grid here is DM33nn.

Ward K7PO

Hi Ward, your ground system must be the envy of all other lowfers! I saw
signal bits from 7P the first night JB mentioned it was on the air. They
were in there for quite a few hours but never good enough to identify
the call using ARGO at QRSS30. Last night I tried QRSS60 also but at the
slow speed it didn't help. Eventually identified the call with a little
imagination with QRSS30, slow. Interesting that closer lowfers SJ and WM
were decent at the time of the attachment but slowly faded in and out
over the night, while traces of 7P were always evident but faded in and
out rapidly, turning some dashes into dots and some dots missing.
Assuming the grid square is DM33nl the path length to me is 1459 miles,
not nearly as far as to Andy, KU4XR but easily my best DX. Thanks for
putting another signal at the watering hole.
