[Lowfer] EAR tests this morning & early afternoon

JB & All: Actually I was more interested in seeing how well the e-probe would perform not being overloaded by the 1020 and 1080 kHz 50KW stations at

4 and 5 miles away. It took several adjustment  iterations to get the LC shunt on the e-probe input adjusted to get ~40 dB notch on those two powerhouses.  The LC shunt also reduces the 730 kHz station several dB.  The e-probe gain seems to return to normal around 500 kHz and down....I expect the directional EWE to win, but each antenna has its strengths and weaknesses...

The 185 kHz Bridge T Q=1 Diplexer simply has  all XL, XC, and R values at 50 ohms at the design frequency. Info and measured insertion loss below...

Somewhat analogous to a "bidirectional"  isolator at microwave, it has a very good 50 ohm broadband match with some band pass filtering at the design frequency...

Thank you Joe Reisert W1JR who originally wrote up the Bridge T diplexer in Ham Radio magazine years ago....

Hi Mike, LowFERs….you were a busy boy doing all of that testing! It clearly shows that for EAR, your NW EWE antenna is the winner. Would you share with us the details of your 185 kHz. bridge T diplexers? Thanks for the report and the various Argo screen shots. 73, J.B., VE3EAR LowFER Beacon "EAR" 188.830 kHz.
