[Lowfer] 185.3 this AM

Mike: OK, I will try to post or send you directly some watering hole
captures a few times a week in a similar time frame. Usually early afternoon
is a good path to the SW and NW on 185 kHz. Today the wind is out of the
unusual SE direction at 15~20 mph and power line noise is higher than usual.
I have the QRSS60 running on 185.3, many times QRSS30 will not make it to
you or SIW...

OK on the tree situation. I removed a 50ft elm and 50ft red cherry tree that
were near field to my HF vertical (15 ~ 20 feet) last November. When I did
that, it seemed to worsen my noise situation on 475 kHz with the EWE
antennas that are 50 some feet away. But the LF bands seem unaffected or
possibly improved with the EWEs---just by intuition of day-to-day reception
performance.

I have two 50 KW AM BC stations within 5 miles of my location, it is
possible I am getting some extra 1/f broadband transmitter noise from them
at the close distance at 475 kHz. You can imagine the AM BC RF level on the
local utility power lines and my antennas as well...

Thanks for the reply and for your beaconing efforts.
