the oscillator now ranges from 250 to 550 kHz. But it is not stable at 
all, typically wobbling +/- 2 or 3 kHz. So not reliable enough to tune 
up an antenna at say 474kHz."

I'm not playing in the lower bands yet, so not TOO critical at the point 
in time, my "immediate" (relatively) demand is to make an antenna for my 
wife as close to centered on 660 KHz as possible.

For those that have done the mods to the 249, 259, et cetera, what kind 
of ranges did you get from what L values?
