Played with my '249 a few days ago, adjusting L1, a 33uH coil, only 
allows me to get down to 1,590 KHz.  Hoping to get down to 500 KHz for 
what I'm doing, but will probably add multiple inductors to see how low 
I can go as I need to really get into this unit to fix/replace a bad 
band selector switch as well.
